Privacy policy

Impossible Adware Remover (“the app”) helps you find and remove the app that causes pop up ads on your Android phone. This policy explains what the app accesses, what it does with it, and what it never does.

What the app accesses on your phone

Impossible Adware Remover only uses these permissions for the feature you turn on. All processing happens on your device.

• Accessibility service (when you turn on detection). Used only to see which app opens a window on top of your screen, and when. This is how Impossible Adware Remover finds the app causing pop up ads. It does not read screen content, text you type, passwords or messages. It does not take screenshots or tap anything for you. You can turn it off at any time in your phone’s Settings.
• List of installed apps. Used to check your apps against Impossible Adware Remover’s adware definitions and to show you which app is causing the ads.
• Usage access (optional). Used to see which apps recently came to the front of your screen, to spot apps that jumped in front of the app you were using.
• Notification access (optional). Used only to see which app posted a notification, and when, so you can find the app sending ad notifications. Impossible Adware Remover never reads what a notification says.
• Display over other apps. Used to keep Impossible Adware Remover visible while you remove an app, so pop up ads can’t cover it.
• Request to delete apps. Used to open Android’s own uninstall dialog. Impossible Adware Remover never removes anything by itself; you confirm every removal.
• Notifications. Used to show you when detection is running and when a culprit is found.

The results (which apps opened pop ups, scan results, removal history) are stored only on your phone. They are not backed up or sent anywhere.

Internet use

Impossible Adware Remover connects to the internet for two things only:

• Adware definition updates. The app downloads a signed list of known adware from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). Nothing about you or your apps is sent. GitHub can see the connection, like any website you visit, under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
• Purchases through Google Play. If you buy a reveal, the payment is handled by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. The app only receives a confirmation from Google Play that the purchase was completed. Google’s handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

What we don’t do

• No account or sign-in
• No ads and no advertising IDs
• No analytics, crash reporting or tracking tools
• No collection of your name, email, contacts, location, photos, messages or browsing
• No selling or sharing of data with anyone

Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. To delete everything Impossible Adware Remover has stored, clear the app’s storage in Settings → Apps → Impossible Adware Remover → Storage, or uninstall the app. Because we hold no data about you on any server, there is nothing else to delete.

Children

Impossible Adware Remover is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone.

This website

stoppopups.app uses Statcounter to count visits and see which pages are read and where visitors come from. When a page loads, your browser sends Statcounter the page address, the referring page, your IP address, screen size and browser details, and Statcounter may set a cookie to recognise returning visitors. We use these statistics only to improve the website. There are no advertising or social media trackers.

Like any web server, ours keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time, browser) for security; they are rotated and deleted regularly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
