Stories on the lock screen
Swipeable news, wallpapers and offers sitting on the lock screen. They come from Glance, a wallpaper service or a lock screen magazine your phone maker installed. Switched off in Settings.
Lock screen ads on Android
Stories and offers on the lock screen are a setting. Ads that jump up the second you unlock are not: that’s an app, and it needs removing. Here’s how to remove both.

Short answer
Lock screen ads on Android come from two places. Stories and offers on the lock screen itself are a phone setting (Glance, a wallpaper service or a lock screen magazine): switch it off in Settings → Lock screen, or on Samsung in Settings → Lock screen and AOD → Wallpaper services → None. Ads that pop up the moment you unlock come from an installed app; Impossible Adware Remover catches it after about two pop-ups so you can uninstall it.
Which lock screen ads?
Swipeable news, wallpapers and offers sitting on the lock screen. They come from Glance, a wallpaper service or a lock screen magazine your phone maker installed. Switched off in Settings.
A full-screen ad that appears the moment you unlock, before you’ve opened anything. That’s an installed app waiting for the screen to turn on. Remove the app and they stop.
Turn off lock screen stories
Menu names change between phone versions; the Settings search always finds them. More detail in how to remove Glance.
The fix
No lock screen setting stops an app that fires an ad when you unlock. Impossible Adware Remover catches it the moment it does.

A few taps in Android’s settings, guided step by step. Impossible Adware Remover only sees which app is on screen and when, never what’s on it.

When the next pop-up lands, Impossible Adware Remover notes who sent it. After about two pop-ups it catches the app, even if it hides inside another app.

Finding it was free. Pay €4.99 once to see which app it is, then Android’s own uninstall dialog opens with a removal shield. Gone for good.
The pop-up shield
Stay on Impossible Adware Remover’s screen and every pop-up that tries to cover it is pushed back and counted. Finally, a calm screen where you can see what’s going on, find the app and remove it, without fighting your own phone.
